Le Val de la Bonne Vie
Welcome to Droiteval! This historic hamlet is located in the valley of the small Ourche River, amidst the Vosges forests. This region was once known for its numerous forges and glassworks, of which only a few remain today. Today, this region is characterized by its diverse and extensive forests and its characteristic hilly landscape. This area is ideal for beautiful walks and is a paradise for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. The Val de la Bonne Vie is a former monastery, built in the 6th century, which has had multiple uses over the centuries. Currently, there are four guest rooms and two apartments, as well as a mini-campsite in the garden. The building can also be rented as small-scale group accommodation, for groups of at least 15 and a maximum of XNUMX people. All guests can also use the garden (where you can make a nice fire and admire the beautiful starry sky), the painting studio, the library, the small chapel in the crypt, and the guest lounge. We are Mark, Amerensia, and Gwen van Houwelingen, your hosts during your stay. You are very welcome to visit us. We enjoy cooking for you, with many seasonal products, from our own vegetable garden or not, and often vegetarian, but always adapted as much as possible to the wishes of our guests. We consider it a matter of course to do our best to be good stewards of this beautiful piece of land; we separate our waste, try to use water and electricity sparingly, and use our own compost for the vegetable garden and the future food forest (in the making).
