Maison Tabor
Staying at Tabor means benefiting from:
- a warm welcome,
- a relaxing setting conducive to rejuvenation with exceptional views,

- a bedroom with private bathroom and a south-facing aspect with a view,
- of two meetings minimum per week (outside of seminars) with the Tabor community (prayer and worship meeting).

In the 30s, four young women, Elise BILD, Marie ROOS, Marguerite STUBER, and Lina NORTH, together had the wonderful experience of conversion to Jesus Christ. Pooling their resources and talents, they helped the needy around them, assisted families in difficulty, and gathered many children to teach them biblical principles through songs, games, and crafts.
The number of people won to Christ through this method continued to grow. Having discovered in the Bible that baptism by immersion was an act of obedience following conversion, the group understood that a pastoral ministry was essential.
During this same period, a pastor, Paul Siefer, from the Lutheran church of Alsace, providentially joined the group, along with his wife Rösi.
Initially based in Wasselonne in the Bas-Rhin region, the group moved in 1946 to the Ampfersbach valley to a magnificent private property they rented, called “La Moraine”. They received guests there from different regions of France as well as from neighboring countries.
Formed as a non-profit association in 1947, the organization has experienced considerable growth. Under pressure from the exorbitant rents demanded by the owners of La Moraine, the group began searching for another house.
On April 22, 1958, the former “Belle Vue” hotel-restaurant in Muhlbach-sur-Munster was purchased, half with compensation the Siefer couple received for their years spent in a concentration camp, and the other half with donations and loans from friends of the association. The house was named Tabor after the mountain of the same name in Israel, located at the same altitude and mentioned in the Bible.
For years, many improvement and expansion works have been carried out by the grace of God, with the courage of the team and the generosity of a large number of people who have at heart the progress of the work.
Over 68 years, four management teams have succeeded one another, pursuing the same vision while adapting to the evolution and needs of new generations as well as to current standards.
In 1973, Francis took over the ministry from the founders, joined by Irene in 1979. They worked faithfully until their retirement. In 2014, Etienne and Corinne Ansen in turn took over, and since February 2024, Corine and Xavier Kern have been welcoming you.
